A note about Piracy

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

After posting the info about the upcoming free read. I need to mention this again as I did earlier this year. I posted this to my yahoo group also. This notice covers all of my free reads whether written jointly, as part of a group or for Satin Notes – past and any in the future. For my site and Satin Notes, I will have this info posted on my site, and in front of all free reads on my site and those written jointly on the Satin Notes site.

Although I wish this wouldn’t need to be said. I have to say it. It has come to my attention that some free books/reads I have previously posted exclusively to Crenshaw Café, to groups I am part, to my site and Satin Notes are being uploaded/posted on pirate sites. I am not sure why. The free books/reads I post at various places are that free. On some of these pirate sites there are paid memberships and so on. Which means when it trickles down to it you are paying for books that are being offered for absolutely nothing. So with that being said, if any of my free reads/books end up on any of the pirate sites I will have to decide, at my discretion if I will continue to write/post anymore free reads. When books I write, either for free or published for sale, are given away on pirate sites it saddens me that it happens. It especially makes me not want to offer any more books for free. I want to continue too offer free reads as a thank you to readers but this can change if my free reads/books ends up on pirate site. I’m sorry it has come to this but this is how I feel when my books continue to be uploaded/posted to pirate sites.

Further about my book published for sale by my various publishers that are given away on pirate sites. Please stop. I work hard to write these books.

I also will  have in my side bar a link to the same piracy notice.

CC Exclusive – Welcome to Carden Valley!

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

For Crenshaw Caféhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/crenshawcafe my chat group I announced one of the special things I have planned. As many of you know I love to build towns/communities/ families. A while back I wrote a story for the joint group that I am part of. The book was written as a prize only for those readers who attended the launch party. I enjoyed the characters and town so much. Of course they would not leave me alone so from that story I decided to create something just for members of Crenshaw Café. For my chat group members I have the town – Carden Valley. The free books written in Carden Valley will be exclusive to Crenshaw Café members. If there comes a time that changes I will state. For now only members of Crenshaw Café will get the books I write for Carden Valley – the town – exclusively.

This is the intro posted to my yahoo group about Carden Valley.

Welcome to Carden Valley!

When Carden Valley was founded we started it with the tenets – be neighborly, accepting and help the town thrive. Carden Valley has succeeded in following those tenets although sometimes not all of us follow them. We have our idiosyncrasies and things that make us unique. We are a thriving town. Enjoy the atmosphere of our town, meet the residents of Carden Valley – they are real friendly folks, and get an inside view in stories of love, loss and all that comes from life. In each book written by Taige Crenshaw, will bring you deeper into the lives of the residents or visitors to our picturesque town – Carden Valley.

Come on in and rest for a while as you get to know the various people that make up our town…

Carden Valley.

The first book set in Carden Valley will be posted October 1, 2010. This book as mentioned above was written as a prize only for those readers who attended the  launch party of my joint group.

Taken by You will be the first book for the Carden Valley books. Periodically I will be writing exclusive to Crenshaw Café books set in Carden Valley. Right now I do not have any idea of how often or when I will be posting them. These books will be when I get time to write them.

I will post the blurb and cover for Taken by You tomorrow.

As mentioned above this will be a story posted exclusively to my group Crenshaw Café. If you are not a member join the group here Crenshaw Café – http://groups.yahoo.com/group/crenshawcafe .

Snippet Saturday – Villain/Villainess

Today’s snippet theme is Villians but in my case I have a Villainess. Enjoy a look from one of my books.

An snippet from Onyx Moon Rising

onyxmoonrising_smallThe woman who had spoken before shook her head, got to her knees, and slapped the man next to her. “Continue, you fool.”

She turned and sprung across the clearing heading for Tashana. Spinning out of the way, Tashana felt claws rake her arm. Hissing, she turned and punched out. The woman flew across the clearing, seemed to catch herself and then flew back at her. Spinning in the air, Tashana back-kicked her in the chest. The woman screamed in rage and caught her foot. She dragged Tashana and flung her across the clearing. Hitting the ground hard, Tashana rolled to get out of the way as the woman punched down, breaking the earth. A loud screech rent the air. Tashana looked up and saw a spear buried in Sanjay’s dragon chest. She gasped but didn’t worry, it couldn’t kill him. The woman punched down again and Tashana grabbed her fist.

Using her as leverage, Tashana kicked up with her legs while pushing out with her palm. The woman flew backward, her feet raking the ground. The woman caught herself and smiled. A sound of anguish rent the air. Glancing up, Tashana’s heart stopped as Sanjay plummeted out of the sky. Calling back the power from the clones, Tashana threw her hand open in Sanjay’s direction . A golden net caught him and lowered him to the floor. He shifted back to human form, gasping. Tashana stumbled back as the woman punched her in her chest. Tashana grabbed her hand, twisted it and pushed out with her fist hitting the woman in the chest. She poured all her power into her. The woman screamed, shuddered and dropped. Stepping over her, Tashana stumbled and fell to her knees, too weak to walk. Dragging herself to Sanjay, she touched him and felt the coolness of his skin.

“Sanjay, what’s wrong?” Tashana was frantic.

He gurgled.” Poison.”

She was confused. ”Poison can’t kill a dragon.”

Sanjay gasped. “It is the same that killed my father.”

Tashana’s heart stopped. He hadn’t told her how his father died. Dragging herself over him, she touched his chest trying to pull it out of him. She was too weak.

“No!” Tashana screamed.

A backwash of power swept over her. Looking up she saw more Deathwalkers fill the clearing. They advanced. She was too weak to duplicate help. Using her last burst of energy, she brought her swords to her. Using them as leverage, she stood slowly and painfully. Bringing them up in front of her, she prepared to fight until her last breath. The Deathwalkers screamed and rushed her.

Last days of Summer

Monday, September 20th, 2010

It has been a nice summer. Had a great time spending it with my family and hanging out. Been just chilling and relaxing. Ahh… I love summer. Summer goes so fast it was a blink. One moment we are complaining of the heat then the next we are layered in padding. It is a weird cycle.

I for one will be enjoying these last days of summer 2010. Having as much fun as I can. Still have plans to go to various movies, take some long walks and spend as much time as I can in the sun. Feel the shine on my face and the breeze on my skin. I think my love of summer comes from me being born during the summer.

Summer is the time when family and friends get together to fun and frolic. This time towards the last days of summer people are getting together for the last days of summer vacations. Plans are fun and the execution of them enjoyable before the fall is upon us. Then with fall we start thinking of what we want to do next summer. But for now we are in those last glorious days of summer.

Ahhh… those last days of summer… What are your plans?

Snippet Saturday – Make Ups!

Today’s snippet theme is Make Ups. Enjoy a look from one of my books.

godstyletemptation_msr_smallAn snippet from God Style Temptation

“But I didn’t count on you. The temptation that you would bring me. You made me hope. Hope that I could have an invincible man who would never leave me, but then you told me about your wife dying. Yes I know she chose to save your son, but I couldn’t take the chance. I fooled myself into believing it was just sex but it wasn’t. Isn’t. I can’t take it if you die on me, Nigel, but I can’t live without you either. It’s like you died anyway. In here.” She pressed her hand over her heart.

Nigel put his hand over hers and shook his head. “Ah queinlos, we all must live the life we have now. I can’t promise you that nothing will happen to me but I can promise that even if I die I will always find you.”

Aurora looked into his eyes. “I love you, Nigel.”

The look on his face was priceless. She laughed and he joined her.

He sobered and his gaze was intense. “I love you, Aurora, my queinlos.”

Nigel gaze shifted pass her shoulder. Aurora followed his gaze and gasped. There was a breathtakingly lovely woman standing in the doorway leading to the garden. Her hair hung around her in inky black curls and her eyes were rich amber. Aurora could see the garden through the door through her. Aurora knew she was looking at the ghost of Nigel’s deceased wife Zarlu. The woman smiled, gave them a thumbs up and then she was gone.

Looking back at Nigel she saw the soft smile on his face. He looked at her and she saw the peace and love shining in his eyes. He leaned in and kissed her. Sinking into his kiss Aurora felt the hunger she always felt when he touched her, rush to consume her. Nigel murmured against her lips. Still holding her in his arms he walked toward the door to the gardens. Stepping outside he strode down the path and around the corner of the house. Stopping he lowered her to a bed of flowers and kneeled between her widespread thighs.

As she lay on them Aurora inhaled their sweet scent. Over Nigel’s shoulder she could see the snow covering the ground a little distance away from the house. The gardens and around the house were bright and warm from the sun.

Nigel was waiting for her to look at him.

Reaching up she cupped his cheek. “Make love to me.”

Reader Gold – Series/Serials

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

I’ve been reading a lot lately and I love series/serials so I have been rereading my favs. I’ve written on my own blog about my love of series and serials. What they are and how I feel about them. Almost monthly there are so many books coming that are part of a series/serial.

First here are my definitions of them both:

Series ~ Taige Crenshaw Definition:
Novels that has a related story theme but each one is complete in and of itself.

Serial ~ Taige Crenshaw Definition:
Novels that feature/follows the same main character/s yet are still a fresh story each time.

No matter which way you slice it I find whether it is a serial or series I enjoy writing stories like this. It gives me room to stretch my mind, push my characters to give me more and wallow in there adventure even more. Although I enjoy these stories I don’t usually start writing with the intention of it being a series/serial sometimes it just happens to evolve that way.

I write what I love to read and I’m one of those readers that wondered what is next for such and such main character. Or what happened to this sub – character that I liked in this or that novel. I go hunting to find more and when I find it I feel like I’ve struck READER’S GOLD. I jump up and down and shout in glee. LOL.

I’ve been known to search for years to get that book to complete a series/serial I was reading. Hey I’m a dedicated reader and I want the complete set of my series/serial.

For instance I remember many years ago I picked up an author that I hadn’t tried before. The novel was great and imagine my glee that I struck reader gold and it was a series. I went back and bought all of their novels except one which was sold out. I searched and searched for years for this one book and couldn’t find a copy. Not even a used one. I even contacted the author to find out if the story was going to be re-printed. To my dismay it wasn’t at that time. Amazon even had over 200 people waiting for a copy of this book when I checked. I stopped checking the numbers after I saw the amount of people. No one was selling. A few years after looking I finally struck reader gold in 2005 when the book was reprinted and I was able to finish my collection. I know me and over 199 other people very happy.

Can you imagine so many readers looking for an author. Searching for that Reader’s Gold. That is what I want my novels to be to my current and future readers ~ Reader’s Gold. No I don’t want you the reader to wait a long time for my books but I want you to be so drawn into the worlds that I create you can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is what Reader’s Gold is all about. As my thoughts of Reader’s Gold evolved I thought of all the author’s who have some wonderful series/serials that I feel are Reader’s Gold. They line my bookshelf’s (online and print) and I go looking for them when they are released.

I’m sure most of you have a little Reader’s Gold on your bookshelf so come on and share. Give me some new Reader’s Gold to find.
