For my Monday’s Adventure I went back to the day job.
My week off was fun but tiring. I went back to work and it was a busy day. My mini vacation wore off in five minutes after walking through the door. I was going and going like the energizer bunny all day. Now I’m home I am worn out. So this will be a short post so I can go to bed.

For my TBR book for this week’s TBR Book Challenge I read Kitty Goes to Washington and Kitty Takes a Holiday by Carrie Vaughn. If you haven’t read these stories you need to go and read them. They were really good. It was funny, sexy and interesting. I
loved Kitty from the first book I read and with each book it is getting better. It was a good read.

I went for a visit to Build a Bear with my visting family. If you read my previous blog you know I love stuffed animals and I haven’t bought any for over a year. And I’m proud to say I made it out of Build a Bear without buying anything for myself.
My sister bough me a little something so that helped me not to buy. LOL. It was a fun visit. So many clothes to choose for your bear and such. My nephew got two bears. One is Shrek. It so cute. Well I am off to help him finish dressing the his stiffed animals.

Carnal Awakening, will be released on July 27, 2007 at Ellora’s Cave . In this uncovered we have an excerpt gving you s peek inside of the novel. Shay and Mikhail’s story is only a few days away so enjoy the peek and look for there story on July 27, 2007.
Un-Edited Excerpt:
Deciding not to dwell on it, Shay turned away from the window and toward the bathroom attached to her office. Inside the bathroom, she opened the closet and took out the turquoise dress she had originally worn to work. As Shay stripped she felt the dampness of her clothes. Quickly tossing them in the basket next to the sink Shay stepped into the shower.
Twenty minutes later she strode back into her office walking to her desk. Absently she glanced out the window then away. Jerking her attention back to the window she saw it was clear. Frowning she wondered how long after sex the EFF Syndrome would last and if she would be seeing Mikhail’s hungry eyes looking at her all day.
The ringing of her phone interrupted Shay’s thoughts. “Exotic.” Putting it out of her mind Shay got to work.
* * * * *
She tastes like ambrosia. Standing outside Shay’s office window Mikhail watched Shay working. When he had looked up and seen her through the window he had wondered what she was doing. There were people going up and down the sidewalk outside her window. No one even stopped or looked at her. With her little show he couldn’t resist coming closer to look.
Although weak the strength of the enchanted glass had pushed at his senses. Absently he wondered who would have thought to have it installed. It had to be someone who knew there were other things in this world besides the humans. Looking closer he realized that it had a council mark. That in itself was a rare thing. He couldn’t think of anyone on Earth Realm who had that kind of pull with the council. Feeling it he could tell it hadn’t been reinforced, as it should have been. He happened to glance up in time to see Shay pull up her skirt and start to touch herself.

You’re probably wondering what the top I used in this blog is all about. I like to think of it as my talisman when I write. I don’t have a real one yet but I look at the picture of the top that I have posted in my office and wonder about all the possibilities. Then I break all those possibilities and push the boundaries.
Just like a top I like to add my spin on things and let them land where fate deems fit. As a writer I strive to be different. When I sit down and write a story I write not just as a writer but also as a reader. I want to be entertained and want to entertain, thrill, entice and make you come back for more. Many say there is power with free speech. I say there is power in the way you write the words in your free speech. It is amazing what the human brain can come up with and I am asked many times how I come up with my ideas and I always find there is not really a way to articulate how I come up with ideas. I just simply say I put my spin on it.
Yet it is so much more. One of my greatest ideas places lately is the Subway. Yes you heard me right the Subway. As I ride to and from work and people are rushing to get to work or get the heck home I sit and dream of the next adventure I will take. I laugh, cry and curse as the plot plays in my head like it is happening to me at that moment. Yes as you can imagine I get strange looks but I don’t care I am too deep in my story for it to even register. Well unless someone actually asks me what is wrong then they wish they didn’t as I bring them into my story to. LOL. If the mood strikes me I’ve been know to pull out paper and if that’s not available tissue/napkins and write. I scribble furiously and get my ideas down and even chapters. You can imagine how my desk looks with papers when I get ready to write. LOL.
Now back to the spin on things. Differences are what make us and I like to explore that then smash it to push it to the extreme. I have found that this works for me. The trick is you have to let go and let the muse take you where it will. Me and Mikayla – my muse (yes she has a name because she is very demanding and opinionated) have a good working relationship. Meaning I let her have free rein and when I do it works in both our favors. We push each other to do more and give more. With each book I sit to write I wonder what will make this different and memorable then I realize that no matter what you write as long as you put your spin on it you already have the battle of a great story won.
I try and create novels that are unrestrained by reality. Hell I build worlds that defy definition and enjoy each and every improbable part of it. I love fulfilling anything I think is needed in a great story. Of course that means an engaging plot, lots of sex, fantasy and escape. An escape from the normal everyday and into the pages of a wonderful tale. I revel in the forays of the alpha male hero type and the kick butt heroine whether they be human, vampire, shape shifter, witch or anything else. There is freedom when you let go the restrictions and let the imagination free. Step outside what is expected. I love, fight and live with all those characters I create. Isn’t this really what it is all about? Taking a spin and letting it flow.
Novels are an adventure just waiting for you to open the pages and take a whirl. It is all about imagination and using it to escape. So take a spin and see where you end up and let your mind escape…

For my Monday’s Adventure it started with the rain.
I’m a off from work this week {yippeeee} so I planned on doing the tourist thing with my family who is visiting. It rained a lot today and we were not able to go out. My niece who wasn’t feeling well came over so we spent the day babysitting.
All I can say is if she was sick I was a hula girl on the planet Zultar. She was all over the place. Since I am known as the fun Aunty I was right behind her running around the house like we both had lost our minds. {Grin} Yeah it was fun.
Now that she has gone home with her mom I hurt in places I didn’t know I had. Now I am off to have a stiff drink and soak my aching muscles. Oy.

For my TBR book for this week’s TBR Book Challenge I read If She Only Knew by Lisa Jackson. The story was interesting with lots of suspense and great characters. It was a good read. I checked my shelf for more of Lisa Jackson and saw I had a few more of her books. I can’t wait to 
read more of her books.

Well we went to the airport to get my brother in law. His flight was delayed for five hours. He called to let us know. The airport was a madhouse when we got there. It seemed like so many people flights were delayed. After he finally arrived we waited for {insert a dum dum dum dum sound here} the LUGGAGE.
We anxiously watched for it. After the experience of my own lost luggage and my sister’s we didn’t hold much hope that he would get his right away.
I was proven wrong. He got all his luggage. Yippeee. They looked so nice sitting there. We snapped them up and almost kissed them in glee. Just to get them was a feat. So we rolled them out of the airport. I was expecting some airline official would take them back from us and say uh huh your luggage got through. That’s a no no let’s lose them for you. {Grin}.
So we are happy today, despite the delay in flight we are leaving the airport with luggage. It feels so good. Not to mention I am off this upcoming week to do the tourist thing around New York with my visiting family. I’ve been limbering up for all the walking. My feet are ready to go. I don’t know about the rest of me but I’ll let you know how it goes.
And I am looking forward to taking my nephew to Build a Bear. My no stuffed animals buying is at an end. {Wicked grin} Someone should warn Build a Bear to look out Taige, she’s about to go stuffed animal and doll crazy. Shhh don’t tell I want it to be a surprise. LOL.
